* 1970 Ingelheim am Rhein, lives in Berlin

The German-British-Indian artist Michael Anthony Müller explores the aesthetics and visualisation of complex thought processes in his work, which he constantly questions in terms of their sensual experience and material content.

The artist develops a practice that constantly takes these systems and structures to their limits through variation, transformation, manipulation and fictionalising modification, using a vast array of historical narratives, scientific methods, social norms as well as linguistic and numerical systems. Through these resulting deviations and irritations, as well as the resulting doubt about the already existing and the mistrust of truths which are unquestioned, a completely independent artistic language of form is created. It manifests itself not only in large-format paintings and drawings, but also in installations, sculptures, performances and the curatorial practice of the artist.

Furthermore, Michael Müller taught as a professor at the Berlin University of Arts (UdK) from 2015 to 2018.
