Ansgar Nierhoff

Ansgar Nierhoff became known nationwide with his steel sculptures. First, he completed a technical apprenticeship as a bricklayer and successfully completed it in 1960 with a journeyman’s certificate. In 1964 he obtained the general university entrance qualification at the Frankenberger Edertalschule. Ansgar Nierhoff then studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1964 to 1969. He became a master student of Norbert Kricke. His other teachers included Joseph Fassbender and the art historian Eduard Trier.
