In its third year the swiss Galerie Haas Zürich partake again at the Art Düsseldorf as one oft he international participants. In keeping with Art Düsseldorf’s claim to regionality and internationality, Galerie Haas Zürich shows works by artists whose work and creativity are closely linked to Düsseldorf and Rhineland. These include Peter Brüning (1929-1970), who taught as professor of Free Painting at the Düsseldorf State Academy of Fine Arts, A.R. Penck (1939-2017), who also held a teaching position there, and Markus Lüpertz, who as director of the Academy of Fine Arts from 1988 to 2009 shaped the understanding of art of his students, the city and the country.
In addition, Galerie Haas Zürich presents artists from its own gallery program, as namely examples of international post-war art and contemporary positions in painting and sculpture. Of particular interest here is the juxtaposition of works by Heinz Ackermans, Emil Cimiotti, Auke de de Vries, Jiří Georg Dokoupil, Kerstin Grimm, Almut Heise, Martha Jungwirth, Dirk Lange, Uwe Lausen, Jakob Mattner, David Nicholson, Ansgar Nierhoff, Arnulf Rainer, Rolf Szymanski, Hans Uhlmann, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra, Jonathan Wateridge and René Wirths.
