Galerie Haas in Zurich has developed the wonderful idea of exhibiting artists who can choose a classic as their guiding figure.
Slawomir Elsner (*1976) chose “Espagnole à la guitare” (1926/27) by Francis Picabia (1879-1953). It is a gouache, 103 x 74.5cm in size. The Spanish guitar player melancholically melts under her sounds. Her face is of immense tenderness, the lips of pronounced sensuality.
