Valerio Adami
Dall’Italia e la Germania alla Svizzera
Valerio Adami, born in Bologna in 1935, is today one of the classics of contemporary representational painting in Italy. Adami first came to Switzerland as a teenager with the wish to meet Thomas Mann, who was living in Zurich at the time. He met the writer and was even allowed to shake his hand. And although Adami spent a lifetime travelling the world and living in many places on different continents, he always had a very intimate relationship with Switzerland. The Swiss landscape and some of its cultural personalities are always to be found in his paintings.
