Galerie Haas Zürich is delighted to submit its application for the upcoming edition of artgenève 2024 with a selection of works by artists reevaluating painting within the context of postwar and contemporary art.
Galerie Haas Zürich’s presentation will include works by Martha Jungwirth, Konrad Klapheck, Astrid Klein, Gary Kuehn, Reinhard Pods, Michael Müller, Louise Nevelson, Joan Snyder, Arnulf Rainer, Carol Rama, George Rickey and André Thomkins, all of them collectively redefining the boundaries of artistic expression. From Jungwirth’s and Snyder’s emotionally charged abstractions to Nevelson’s transformative assemblages and Michael Müller’s investigativeapproach, Thomkins’ experimental Lackskin compositions to Rickey’s kinetic wall pieces, Kuehn’s and Rama’s exploration of materiality to Rainer’s powerful gestures and Klapheck’s surreal mechanizations, Astrid Klein’s intellectual intensity and Reinhard Pods deep expressionism, this presentation showcases the diversity and dynamism of painting since the middle of the last century.
“Painting Revisited” is a celebration of the artistic evolution and the enduring spirit of creativity. These artists remind us that the act of creation is a timeless endeavor, one that constantly reinvents itself while paying homage to art history.
